Summary

REGDOC-2.5.7, Design, Testing and Performance of Exposure Devices, provides guidance on the design, testing and performance of exposure devices, in order to apply for the certification of the radiation device under section 12 of the Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices Regulations. This document supersedes RD/GD-352, Design, Testing and Performance of Exposure Devices, published in January 2012, and includes the following updated information:

  • new title
  • new cover and inside cover
  • updated references (where appropriate)
  • new back page showing the CNSC’s regulatory document series

In addition to the above administrative changes, updates to the references were made throughout the document (e.g., ISO 2919:2012, updated from 1999).

Version 1.1 includes administrative updates so that references to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s SR-6, Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material, reflect the 2018 edition.
